All done
Sat for a moment in silence, pressed the letter to my face, then dropped it into the box. Daughter moaned in the back seat, come on, she said. OK, I said, lets go get a doughnut. Whoopy, whoopy, whoopy, yeah!
It's a well-established truism among me and my friends that there are few difficulties in this world that coffee and pastries can't comfort, if not completely alleviate.
On a more serious note, good for you that you saw this through. Opening doors to the past can be difficult and scary, but in this case (even though the odds are wwwwaaaaaayyyy in favor of there being no problem), it's an important thing to do. I'm with Jason on this... I wish I could shoulder some of the burden for you, because for me, much like him, "disclosure" is almost second nature.
I am proud of you. You are one couragous woman. Now take a deep breath and trust that all is well. You have done all that you can. You must now release it to the wind and the fates. Breathe...
Healthy, strong, optimistic, and still surprised to learn I had Hepatitis C for who knows how long (viral load 11,700,000; genotype 1b). But finally after some seriously big decisions, 48 weeks of killing treatment, and 6 months of waiting, I'm now SVR (as of 9/21/07) and that means I did it.

Remember to breathe while you wait to hear back.
Thanks Chris. The odds feel good and I'm glad it's done. Thanks.
